“Casino” is a 1995 American crime drama film directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Sharon Stone. The film is based on the true story of Frank Rosenthal, a professional person gambler and Las Vegas casino executive, and his Mafia ties.
De Niro stars as Sam “Ace” Rothstein, a Jewish-American gambling expert who is hired by the Italian-American Mafia to run the Tangiers Casino in Las Vegas. Pesci plays Nicky Santoro, Rothstein’s childhood friend and enforcer, who becomes involved in the casino’s operations.
