Home government minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail acknowledged the presence of political patronage in the country’s illegal gambling activities.
The Home government minister’s remarks came in response to a supplementary inquiry by Sungai Buloh MP Datuk Ramanan Ramakrishnan who inquired in Dewan Rakyat about the impact of political patronage on online gambling and its hindrance to constabulary intervention.
Saifuddin acknowledged that this issue poses the most important challenge for the ministry, constabulary, and government as a whole.
