At least 10 people were killed in a fire that broke out just before midnight on December 28, 2022 in a Cambodian hotel-casino located in a border town nigh Thailand. The Grand Diamond City casino-hotel in Poipet was engulfed in flames and some people were seen jumping out of the burning building to escape. It took rescue teams to a greater extent than than six hours to bring the fire under control.
